Cloud, in French “nuage”(masculine) or “nue” (feminine; also meaning “naked”)
According to the Larousse dictionary, a cloud is:
– a mass of very fine liquid or solid particles of water suspended in the atmosphere by vertical air currents, and whose saturation and condensation may produce precipitation.
– anything forming a light mass of indefinite shape and in suspension: A cloud of dust. A cloud of milk in a cup of tea.
– a threat of an indeterminate nature: Clouded future.
– worry or trouble that appears on one’s face: His face clouded over.
– a set of points obtained by means of experiment, plotted graphically in a system of coordinates or represented in space which assemble in such a way as to resemble a cloud.
