His camera in hand, Gaël Metroz sets out on the trail of Nicolas Bouvier and discovers that the East is no longer the land described in The Way of the World. Disappointed, he traces his own route following back roads with other travelers. Combining poetry and travelogue, this documentary is an elegy to slowness, intimacy, and chance.
