Evanescent space, open, limitless territory——the sky has provoked many questions over the centuries and across civilizations. Is there anything beyond the clouds? This is the major question that the artists attempt to tackle by all means available.
If Yona Friedman and Luis Camnitzer recreate the cloud or the line of horizon with the simplest and most widely accessible materials, it’s perhaps in order to share the most universal and evanescent moments of contemplation.
A world in perpetual motion, the experience of these works brings to light the marvelous cache of these suspended moments.
