Drawing the contours of the world, tracing the borders has long been a major strategic issue and a means of exercise of power. And yet, maps fascinate despite their military and exploratory purpose.
Covering distant stretches of the ocean and more or less (un)real islands and territories, maps of the world are nevertheless generated by a uniform and very standardized vision.
